If you hear the fan noise increasing then the notebook is probably
overheating. If it's under guarantee, contact the local service center as indicated on the manufacturer's website. -- Cari (MS-MVP) Windows Technologies, Printing & Imaging http://www.coribright.com/windows "zacktodd" <zacktodd@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:8B492F77-CF57-4CB1-BFBE-5246C245D0FB@microsoft.com... >i have windows xp and when i try to down load anything including windows > virus scan my laptop just shuts off no warning it just shuts down |

Thanks for the response but i do not believe it is an overheating problem
because it will do it as soon as i turn on the computer within 1 or 2 minutes. I also have bought a cooling plate for it. After alot of trouble shooting we think it is not an overheating problem maybe a virus? at this point i just dont know..Does anyone have any other suggestions???? My Toshiba A75 is in the service center for the third time with overheating
problems... it too has a cooler. Do you hear the fan(s) increase in speed? If so it's overheating. -- Cari (MS-MVP) Windows Technologies, Printing & Imaging http://www.coribright.com/windows "zacktodd" <zacktodd@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:E53714DB-4755-41EA-AF35-3F4A2EF976CA@microsoft.com... > Thanks for the response but i do not believe it is an overheating problem > because it will do it as soon as i turn on the computer within 1 or 2 > minutes.
