Default WinXP Pro sp2 and AMD64 X2 Dual Core

I am trying to find the "hotfix" that is mentioned in Article 896256 in the
MS knowledge base. (http://support.microsoft.com/?id=896256)

I am having problems with performance on Windows XP Pro and the AMD64 X2
Dual-core processor.

Does ANYONE know where I can get this hotfix without having to pay for MS
support?

Microsoft should not charge you for calling just to obtain the hotfix.

Well...so far I haven't worked out a way to contact MS without paying for
it. I have an OEM version of windows and MS says to ask my system
manufacturer for help. The system manufacturer doesn't even recognize this
problem, let alone have the hotfix for it. As of yet, I haven't found a way
to get support on this problem without paying first.

You will either need to call MS, and be nice, or wait for the next XP
hotfix, or
your OEM "should" be able to obtain the files from MS if you cannot.

Did you ever manage to get the hotfix for the SP@ dual core problem? I think
I am having the same exact problem, and am also looking for a way to get the
hotfix w/o paying Microsoft for the solution.
