CPU usage (I have one of my graphic programs open, using MS Messenger, Yahoo
Messenger is open and listening to streaming media player - among the other
programs) When the computer freezes, usually I'm not using a graphic program
or doing anything intensive and it does not appear to happen with any
particular program open (although it may be one of the TSRs --- is that term
still used?)


CPU usage 2% - 10%
PF usage 846 MB

Totals
Handles 19552 - 19567
threads 782 - 788
processes 69

Physical memory

total 1563944
available 907492 ---- 900340
system cashe 735548

commit charge 846M / 2904M

total 866084
limit 2974560
peek 874824

kernel memory 105412
paged 66556
non paged 38856


Numbers above, fluctuating slightly in the range stated - no major peeks as
I type


No question marks in the devise manager (one of the first things that was
checked - and I have verified many times)

I am using Norton antivirus 2005 (through systemworks) and virus definitions
are updated at least once weekly and virus scan runs daily at 4:00AM
(computer has not froze during a virus scan yet) (no - I do not use goback -
I learned that one the hard way)

I will download the Pagefile monitor and check that. I have also ran HD
tune several times and no errors reported. One of the times the system
froze, the temp was reported as 34C so it was not overheating. temp range
maximum has been 38C and minimum 32C

I thought it was going to be a longer setup - here is the first run:


Pagefile Physical Location: C:\pagefile.sys
Current Pagefile Usage: 346 MB
Session Peak Usage: 363 MB
Current Pagefile Size: 1527 MB

it's 10 x more than you said I should be using
