Default Folders open in search mode

Can someone tell me how to change the default when opening folders and
drives? Somehow, mine has changed and opens a "Search Results" screen
instead of showing the files and folders.

I tried the steps you provided, but unfortunately, I need Administrator
priviledges to make this change; which I don't have. Any other suggestions?

Either log in as an Administrator or get the person who is the Administrator to log on.
