I have a dial-up connection and a 4 meg wmv file I want to send to someone.
Is this going to take all weekend or is there a quicker way to get the file to them? |

Or to put it another way, 33554432 bits / ~36600 bits/sec (upload side of
56k is still limited to 36.6, at best, often worse) = 916 secs, or ~ 15 mins, not counting overhead. So no, it won't take all weekend ![]() Perhaps the bigger problem might be limitations your ISP places on email attachments (assuming email is the delivery mechanism, of course). You could convert it to mp3 and reduce the file considerably as well. Also you might upload it to a site like one of the following: "YouSendIt" Transfer files up tp 1 GB: http://s10.yousendit.com/ "Dropload" Transfer files up to 100MBs: www.dropload.com -- John Inzer MS Picture It!
