I am having trouble deleting some photos in my My Pictures file.
When I tried to delete some photos it made copies of them and when I tried to delete the copies it would not. I got an error message titled Error deleting file or folder Cannot delete file: Cannot read from the source file or disk. |

Reboot your computer and then select and delete the files.
The problem here, of making copies, when you selected files to be deleted is simply due to how you use your mouse and the Ctrl or Shift key to select the files to be deleted. Happens to all of us from time to time. Click on the first file you want to delete. REMOVE you finger from your mouse. Move the mouse pointer to the next file you want to delete. Hold the Ctrl or the Shift key down and click on the file. Press the delete key. You are making copies because after clicking on the first file, while holding the Ctrl key or Shift key down, you are moving the mouse pointer down with your finger still on the mouse left click button, just remove your finger from the left click button before moving the pointer down. So, to select the first and last file and all the files in between, click on the first file, remove your finger from the left button, move the pointer down to the last file, hold the Shift key down, click on the last file and press Delete. To delete files, say 1, 7, 10 and 20. Click on file 1, remove your finger from the left button on the mouse, move the pointer down to file 7, hold the Ctrl key down and click on file 7, remove your finger from the mouse, move the pointer down to file 10, hold the Ctrl key down and click on file 10, etc. Then press the Delete key after selecting all the files you want to delete. When you click on a file and you move the pointer down to select another file with your finger still on the left mouse button, while holding the Shift or Ctrl key down you are making copies. Just remove your finger from the left click button after you click on the first file and then move the pointer down to the next file you want to select, hold the Shift or Ctrl key down and then click on the file and then press the Delete key.
