Default How to copy Pictures?

I have a new computer witha DVD+/-RW 16 X Double Layer Multiformat Drive.
I have no idea what that means but, shouldn't I be able to copy my pictures
to a disc with this? Do I use a CD-R compact disc recordable? How do I do
this? As you can see I am totally lost.
Thanks,
Marsha

You need a third party program such as Easy CD Creator or Nero to copy
anything to a DVD.

Not always true Jim. Marsha says she has a new computer which will probably
mean Windows XP. XP contains a built in program which will allow you to drag
files directly onto a writable CD,

Actually, I have both, the built in program inWindows XP and Nero.
When I try to open what I have tried to copy is where I am having a problem.
I have a disc & I have pictures in there (jpeg), I can't get any of the
pictures to open. I don't understand what I am doing wrong.
Thanks for the help, it is greatly appreciated. I am just lost.

I downloaded Infaview and the pictures opened up fine. Now I just have to
remember how I copied them to the disc. Thanks for the help. I really
appreciated it. I have learned how to do so many things by reading &
getting help from the newsgroups. All of you do such a great job of helping
us.
Thanks,
Marsha

==================================
You say you have Nero...
A copy of Nero StartSmart came with my
DVD burner...maybe you have the same?

To burn copies of image files to a CD-R...
I place a CD-R in the burner and open Nero
StartSmart...(if autoplay opens...just close it)

Choose...CD / Data / Make Data Disk...
This will open Nero Express...
Drag / Drop the folders I wish to burn.
Also you can choose the Add button and
browse to the folder. Now click...Next / Burn...
that's about it.

If you wish to use Windows XP to burn the
disk...read the following article:

in Windows XP
