Default Can WindowsXP brighten photos?

I ask that because it is one thing that Paint definitely doesn't do, and
it's the one imaging tool I need for my humble family photos. I don't see
anything else on my system (Winxp-SP2, Word 2000; no Office) that might
allow me to add some brightness to images from my digital camera, although I
know that once an image is embedded into a Word file you can do this with
some simple clicks. Alas, I'm trying to do so closer to the source; storing
edited digital camera pics as .Tiff and Jpeg files.

There are lots of programs that you can download to enable you to improve
your photos.
Have a look at Picasa 2. It's free and very user friendly. And all the
changes you make are reversible if you don't like the end result.

Windows XP does not have that feature.

Maybe one of the following freebies would
be useful to you.

Download IrfanView 3.97

(get the plug-ins too)

FastStone Image Viewer

Windows XP has no default graphics editor.

Download the FREE and excellent IrfanView program which does what you wish and
MUCH more.
