Default Synctoy syncing local EFS-encrypted data with network share

I am interested in protecting laptop data by enforcing that all users' My
Documents folders on their laptops are encrypted with EFS. I want to use a
scheduled Synctoy task to ensure that their data is backed up to their home
drives.

Synctoy gives errors when any of the folders on the left side are encrypted.
Since it is the file system that is handling the encrypting / decrypting
action, I'm surprised Synctoy even cares that the files are encrypted.

When will this be addressed / corrected?
