Hi,
M scanner saves all the pictures it scans as Bitmap images. These files are very large, and hence it is rather impossible to send more than 5 bitmap images via email. Is there a power toy, or program, preferably Microsoft but I won't mind any third parties, that enable me to convert pictures from Bitmap to jpeg? It is rather tedious having to open the pictures in paint, save them as jpeg, and then deleting the other picture... Thank-you. |

All image editors have options for saving in several different formats. Maybe one of the following free programs will be useful to you: FastStone Image Viewer http://www.faststone.org/FSViewerDetail.htm Download IrfanView 3.97 http://www.tucows.com/preview/194967.html (get the plug-ins too) Download XnView http://www.xnview.com/ Also you could try a Google search for: .bmp converter -- John Inzer MS Picture It! Suggest downloading the free IrfanView application.
Very nice program which, among many other features, allows mass conversions from format to format. BMP to JPEG for one. http://www.irfanview.com/ Gord On Thu, 15 Dec 2005 02:21:02 -0800, "Luke Buttigieg" <LukeButtigieg@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote: >Hi, > >M scanner saves all the pictures it scans as Bitmap images. Surely your scanner software gives you a choice as to what you save. I can
understand if the default is BMP but... Quilly, Have a look at the new Anti-Spyware program CounterSpy I recommend it, it worked for me at, http://quilljar.users.btopenworld.com/ |

My scanner does the same but in looking closer I found that they can be saved
as JPG's. For converting bitmaps to JPG's I have found Mihov Image Resizer to be very helpful. You can do batch changes. Just do a google search for it. It's free. Jim "Radu" wrote: > open the Picture (BMP) in MS Paint and save it in the format that you > want (in this case JPG) > > |
