I moved some photos from one folder to another that already contained photos,
obviously with the same names as the ones I was trying to move. Now I can see the original photos in the "film strip" but when I open the photo it is one of the copied photos. I really want to retain both sets of photos and am looking for help in recovering what I lost. HELP! |

HELP! ========================================= When you moved the images...did you see the dialog: "Would you like to replace the existing file" Did you click "Yes" or "Yes to all"? If you did, your images are overwritten. Unless you have a program like Norton GoBack that can revert your hard drive to an earlier time, your images are gone. If your thumbs are incorrect, the following info may help you correct them: Try deleting the Thumbs.db file from that folder. If that does not help...try copying all the files to a new (empty) folder. -- John Inzer MS Picture It! MVP How to ask a newsgroup question: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555375 |

Have I got this correct? You had two folders with the same set of pictures in them and you moved pictures from folder1 to folder2? The pictures in folder2 would have been over-written because you cannot have two files with the same name in one folder. Copy the pictures from Folder2 back into Folder1 if you want two identical sets. If you want two identical sets in Folder2 you must rename the pictures in Folder1 before moving them. If you can still see the original photos in the film strip and if they can be seen quite large, then you could download a free screengrabber and at least recover a version of them through a screen shot. If you need to know more detail let me know. -- Quilly, Have a look at the new Anti-Spyware program CounterSpy I recommend it, it worked for me at, http://quilljar.users.btopenworld.com/ |
