I would be interested in hearing if you find a solution. I have exactly the
same problem with my new XP Pro and I downloaded the Adaptec UDF Reader from download.com…….My system did recognized the disk and I downloaded all my photos. I thought my problem was solved until I tried to open one of my old works files with the text converter (This had previously been working fine) my computer crashed instantly. XP Pro recovered itself after about two minutes, and identified UDF Reader System at address F4DEFOlF as the problem. Finally had to remove the UDF Reader so I could open my old works files, but did recover my photos. -- Linusverl "John Inzer" wrote: > tcarey wrote: > > I had window me and recently upgraded to a new computer > > hence windows XP my problem is now I can not view all the > > stored photographs that I have on disc--- as the computer > > does not recognize the disc please help me!!!!!!!!! > ============================================== > Maybe the following links will he useful: > > (321640) CD-ROM Drive May Not Be Able > to Read a UDF-Formatted Disc in Windows XP > http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=321640 > > > Free...Adaptec UDF Reader Driver 5.1.1.213 > http://download.com.com/3000-2100-9497911.html > > -- > > John Inzer > MS Picture It! My files were created in ME by Works version 6.0. Product ID:
31700-OEM-0000007-00000. Now using Microsoft Word that came with Office Student and Teacher Edition 2003. Don’t mean to interrupt thread, but hope he comes back and tells us if he finds a UDF reader that don’t cause problems with other programs.
