How do I stop the Microsoft folder which holds Synctoy from being displayed
every time I start my PC?

Tom,
I have posed this question on Windows XP General.
See "On startup displays microsoft folder etc."

I have caried out the response which this has stopped the display on startup
on my PC.
It may also help you to overcome this problem.
