Paint is an outdated and very limited
program. Check the disks that came
with your computer/printer/scanner,etc...
you may have better software that you
have not installed.

Try one or all of the following freebies:

IrfanView version 3.98
http://www.tucows.com/preview/194967
(get the plug-ins too)

Picasa2

FastStone Image Viewer

Microsoft Digital Image
Starter Edition 2006
http://tinyurl.com/8x6ea
(60 day trial version)

If the images from your camera are consistently larger than you want, why
not consult the manual that came with the camera and take smaller images?
This will free up your memory card and you will be able to take many more
photos. Forgive me if you already know this.
Also, I must say that Paint as a graphics manipulating program was out of
date ten years ago. There are many completely free, much better programs,
which John and others here have suggested many times.

Cheers,

Quilly

The new generation of Paint. It is free.

You must have NET.FrameWork, it is included in a download for folks who do not.

Can't Paint change the dpi setting? Whatever your camera is inserting in
the image is almost certain to be incorrect anyway.
