Default Re: printing problems

I had the same results/solution as Jeff, but with a Deskjet 5550. The 550c
driver worked just fine, but the original and current downloadable drivers
fail to print. The diagnostic software can print using one of the proper
drivers for the hardware but all other attempts with Window apps fail to
print. Using the older driver I get an output but loose the enhanced
abilities that were the selling point of the newer printer.

I suspect a problem with the HP driver and some update/conflict from
Microsoft's fixes/updates that we get monthly to the Windows XP OS.

It will be curious to see who the final fix will come from. And how long it
will be working before another problem is created.
