May I add to your woes!
I am trying - without success - to install drivers for Epson CX5200 on
Windows XP - SP2. I have downloaded the upgraded driver from epson - it
installs but the printer will not print. If I try to access printer
properties the whole computer hangs - spoolsv.exe is taking up 100% of CPU
usage. Espon's main help has been to insist that their software is 100% XP
compatible! Is there a fix???

Start from scratch. When it gets to the point of installing the drivers, you
select from where to install them. Make sure your printer is NOT connected
and turned off before inserting the installation CD.
Uninstall & reinstall Printer

many thanks! but I did all this! I printed out the instructions form Cori
and followed them to the letter!
Still the same problem!
