If WinXP is installed, IE6 SP1 is already installed by default.

Post the complete error message.

WinXP Print/Fax-specific newsgroup:
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof...wsxp.print_fax, to which
I'm crossposting this reply.

Hello

This is what a friend said but as far as I can remember and see by using the
CD, the installation of IE is optional (although it may well be ticked for
installation by default)

I didn't install it but now it won't seem to install.

I am going to try to download the latest version to see if that helps.

Thanks

No. IE will be installed with WinXP. Access to it can be removed, but IE
has to be there; it's part of Windows.

It won't.

IE is installed by default but it might not be /available/ currently:

Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > Add/Remove Windows Compents >
Internet Explorer (check if unchecked)

Again, I'm not sure this has anything to do with your printer installation
problem.
