Im just using XP home editions built in fax and I can send faxes OK but when
I try to receive I get half way through receiving, then I get an
interruption saying error while receiving. have I set it up correct by
putting in my phone number in the CSID the same as I have in the TSID

Any ideas gratefully received.

Would need more information. Do all receptions fail or just some? What are
your automatic answer settings? Any messages in Event viewer? What is the
status of the Fax Service in Administrative Tools > Services of the Fax
Printer in the Fax Console?
