I'm having a USB printer problem -- in configuration, I'm supposed to select
LPT1/USB, but with SP2, you don't do it that way anymore -- it's USB001. When I configure to this printer, I can't get it to work. I don't know if there's a workaround for this? How do you determine if printing support is listed? I can't find it in Device Manager "Cari (MS-MVP)" <Newsgroups1@coribright.com> wrote in message news:%23uIbIPmgFHA.3256@TK2MSFTNGP12.phx.gbl... > In Device Manager, use the Toolbar to view hidden devices... is USB > printing support listed? > -- > Cari (MS-MVP) > Printing & Imaging > > > > "Rob" <Rob@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:BDF14382-3635-4312-804B-B220743DD971@microsoft.com... >> Yes I did, there was no diference. Turn your printer off.
Open Device Manager and open the Universal Serial Bus Controllers branch. Watch the window and turn the printer on. Usually the device will appear when it connects. If you see it you may have to uninstall from device manager by right clicking the device that appeared and click uninstall. Make sure you pick the right one. Then delete the printer from printers and faxes and server properties. Turn printer off The printer should have an installation disk to install with. You normally run the installation from the disk and turn printer on when prompted.
