I'm trying to allow the Print Operators group to install and manage
printers on a Windows Server 2003 print server. It appears that the Administrators and Power Users groups are set up with these rights but not Print Operators (PO). I have enabled the PO group to Load and Unload device drivers but when I open the Add Printer Wizard, I am unable to select "Local printer attached to this computer" - it is greyed out. I have also modified the C:\WINDOWS\INF directory allowing the PO group to update this folder. What other rights and permissions are required to allow the PO group to fully administer print services? Thanks, Bill |

Did you ever find anything for this? In Windows 2000, Print Operators
can add printers but not in 2003. We have the same problem and would love some input if you found any. |

I haven't found anything new. It seems like Microsoft doesn't intend
for Print Operators to install printers anymore. |
