Default Installing HP Photosmart 1115 on Windows XP Multimedia Edition

I was given an HP Photosmart 1115 printer without the CD installation disk,
so I downloaded the driver from the HP website. When I attempted to install
it, most of the process was working, but then, when I plugged in the USB
cable as prompted to continue the installation process, the computer could
not detect the printer. I kept receiving messages that files could not be
found such as hdharc.exe. Can anyone help me solve this problem?

Paul

Is the USB port known to be working correctly?
