A Mac G4 OS 10 has an hp LaserJet 1012 Attached. We have two XP and a 2000 pc
in the same office on the same router. It is fairly certain the Mac has 'granted use' set up correctly. When we try to use the Printer we get; "windows cannot connect to the Printer. Either name was typed incorrectly or printer lost connection to server" message. We have tried all different ways to type the name; after doing Add printer/ network printer. It finds the printer okay, but won't work. Some pretty smart pc guys tried everything, like deleting present printers, and // and \\ before the printer name, and using a number, like 192.168.0.111 instead of the priner name. How do you find the URL of the printer on the Mac? because maybe if we don't "browse' to a Printer, in Add Printer, but do that Option instead it might work? Do we have to configure a SMB network first, and how? |
