After I send the last page of a fax the PC shuts down & reboots. Then it
proceeds to send the fax again, & shuts down again. It will keep doing this until I unplug the telephone line. (I send the fax over the phone line, but I have cable interent service) I have Window XP Pro |

Those are symptoms of a driver conflict. I suspect you are using a fax modem
that is not on the Windows XP HCL list. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Simon" <Simon@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:26B94F42-1BFB-47FA-9C44-5C17071012E2@microsoft.com... > After I send the last page of a fax the PC shuts down & reboots. OOPS! No, that didn't help us! It did the same thing again after
reinstalling the modem driver. It called, sent the fax, said it was completed, and then POOF! The computer turned off and restarted. After the restart it starts send the fax again. Our modem is one that came with the computer. It's called ESS Ex56T-P1 Data Fax Modem. We don't know what we should do differently. Any suggestions? thanks, Simon "Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook]" wrote: > Those are symptoms of a driver conflict. I am having the same problem with Agere Systems Soft Modem. It worked for a
time, then suddenly the crashes. My modem, too, came with the computer system. Extremely irritating and productivity crushing. Regards, Ron "Simon" wrote: > OOPS! No, that didn't help us!
