Can't receive fax, but can send

Using internal modem. Fax is configured to automatically answer. Incoming
faxes fail. An error message appears in Fax Monitor, but that's the only
indication that attempted to receive a fax. No error message is generated at
sender's fax machine. Can send faxes with no problem. Need help to
troubleshoot. Thanks!

12. Why do my Fax transmissions fail so often?

Windows XP Fax is very intolerant of modems. If the modem you are using is
on the Windows XP HCL list, there may be some recourse, but only if you
enable extensive PSS and debug logging procedures to pinpoint the problem
for Microsoft
