My system crashed and I reinstalled windows. Now, the system will not
recognize my printer and HP 940c. I deleted the printer installed but
everytime I try to install printer I get a message that it cannot be done. I
tried to use the install disk that came with the printer and this cannot be
completed because it cannot find the printer.
I tried the printer on my laptop and it works fine.

Is the spooler started?

I entered the command net start spooler and it started. Then I went to
Printers and Faxes and got the message that spooler substem needs to close
and that it can't install printers.
