Hi,
I am trying to send escape codes to a printer (HP Laserjet 3330) in a Crystal Report. However Crystal Reports' Techknowledge article # c2011288 says: "Crystal Reports sends data to the printer in a per page format. This feature is by design. Escape codes require a per line data transfer to read the escape codes. Therefore, CR does not support printer escape codes. " I have heard that image files can embed printer escape codes as part of the image. MS KB q96795 discusses sending passthrough escape codes and has an example of this. I know that developers can create custom functions as a type of dll that crystal can use so I am wondering if I can use this method to pass through excape codes. I would be content (at least for now, heh heh! ) to send escape codes at the start/before start of each page. I have been trying to find a way to interleave printing to emulate a 3-part form where I can pull copy 1 from tray1, copy2 from tray2. This will also allow me to store checks in a specific tray... It is one of those minor annoyances that just keeps buzzing about in my head. It would be so nice if I can make it go away. Thanks to all who can provide any insight or comments. Regards Habib |
