Default invalid color profile

We have recently purchased an Epson DX3800 all-in-one printer. On
installation the New hardware wizard fails after detecting the printer with
the message Invalid color profile.
The Acer laptop is running Windows XP Home edition SP2 with updates to dec
2005.

The dealer is completly baffeled and so are we.

Regards Andy

Did you connect the printer to the PC before installing the software?
If you did, you'll need to completely uninstall it and start all over.
During the software installation it will prompt you when to connect
the printer to the PC and also when to power it on. You mention the
Hardware Wizard and that gave the clue of improper installation. The
Hardware Wizard is not used when installing using the installation CD.

Thank you for the reply.

We followed the Epson installation instructions to the letter, with the new
printer only connected and switched on as requested.
Have tried an un-install and reinstall and we get the smae message which
says it is from the "new hardware wizard" but with o ID.

No you MUST install the software WITHOUT the printer connected. ONLY when
the software tells you to connect the printer, should you either connect it
or turn it on. The majority of the installation has to be done without
printer connected to PC.
