Default Printer Publishing

We have a two Windows 2000 AS SP4 servers (clustered) that publish printers
into AD. When XP Service Pack 1 users run the Add Printer Wizard and use
Find In Directory to locate printers, some printers (by no means all) are
listed twice or even three times. The entries are identical.

I've looked at the printqueue objects under the servers in AD Users and
Computers and ADSIEdit, but there is only one object there for the printer
and it is only being shown on the physical server hosting the virtual server
responsible for the printer.

Can anyone tell me why multiple objects are being shown in the Wizard (and,
even better, how to stop it!)?

Thanks

Warren

In Windows Explorer, click on Tools, Folder Options, then View...Uncheck the
box on the first line.

Multiple installs/reinstalls of the same printer.

Thanks for the replys, but I've tracked the issue down to a fault in the way
that the printers are being published - they are being published multiple
times, presumably by the print servers.

The published objects under the server names (viewed as containers in AD
Users and Computers) have different names, but contain the same printer name
in the property of the object that is displayed in the Add Printer Wizard.
The duplicate objects have numerical names, presumably generated by AD when a
duplicate object creation was attempted. I've deleted these duplicate
objects, but they seem to be coming back.

Any ideas?

You probably want to ask in the newsgroups relating to Servers..., oh you
already have, hopefully you'll get responses from Server gurus!
