Default Printer sharing problems

I'm trying to connect to a Lexmark Z600 Printer. This is connected to our
desktop PC, and I am trying to connect to it wirelessly from my notebook.
Both are running the same version of XP, and both connect to the net through
a BT 2WIRE router. The Printer is sharable, and file and printer sharing is
enabled on both computers. They are connected to the same workgroup. My
problem arises when trying to check "My Network Places." I can see both
computers on the desktop PC, and am able to share freely from there, but on
the laptop I am unable to view any sharable folders\printers\workgroup
computers.

When trying to "View Workgroup Computers" on the Notebook, it says I have
insufficient privileges, but i cannot find what privileges to enable. Please
help!!
