I've lost the ability to type upper case "M" and "K" on my main computer
running XP home version. I've tried different keyboards and checked for viruses. I can't find anything on the net referring to this problem. I have several user accounts on the computer, and strangely it happens only on the administrator accounts and not any of the limited user accounts. It happens in MS Word, note pad and any program that allows text entry. Has anyone ever seen anything like this? Thanks in advance, Mark |

Perhaps you have somehow set the keyboard language to some crazy
international layout? Try going to Control Panel, Regional and Language Options, Languages tab, Details button. In the 'default input language' box you'll see the language you're currently using. If it's anything but US English, try setting it to that and see what happens. This would be consistent with your symptom happening only on the administrator accounts: I think the keyboard layout is a per-user setting. I can't imagine how this could have gotten set though ... I'll be interested to see if this is the problem. |
