Default running malious software removal tool. And latest patch problems

When I download the malious software removal tool, does it automatically run
on my computer, or do I need to do something to make it happen?

The latest Windows XP patches--Microsoft security bulletin MS05-051--are
causing problems on some computers, (the patch could lock users out of their
PC, prevent the Windows Firewall from starting, block certain applications
from running or installing, and empty the network connections folder, among
other things.).

However, I didn't see XP Home addition listed in the systesm that may be
effected by this patch flaw. Can someone confirm this?

Malicious Software Removal Tool:
http://www.microsoft.com/security/ma...e/default.mspx

Note the note bit on there... It downloads and runs silently in the
background and alerts you only if a problem is found. If you'd like to run
it again you can download it right there and run it without a problem.

As for the last of your two questions I can't answer that as I don't know. I
can say that I've not had any issues with them yet. I think that's one of
the ones I read when it rolled into my inbox and promptly deleted. What I
can say is that you'll get free support if it's an update issue and that I
haven't had any issues on the PCs here with it yet. (I have both Home and
Professional Editions of XP installed throughout the house.)
