Hi,
We have several users that dial-in to our network for access. I would like to disable the Windows Firewall when they are network attached. Group Policy is set to Disable the Firewall when Domain attached and Enable the Firewall for the Standard Profile. I have provided a domain suffix for the dialup connection that matches the domain however when connected the workstations still use "Non-domain" settings for the Firewall. As I understand network determination, if the DNS suffix matches the Domain supplied suffix (for non PPP or SLIP) connections, the computer is considered Domain attached. I assume this means that for SLIP or PPP connections the DNS suffix is not checked. Is there any way to confiure the PPP connection so that the workstations will be considered Domain Attached? |
