Default Retrieving an Administrator Password or Changing a Lilited Account to Admin

Hi,

I am having some trouble with my home computer. I am the sole user of
my computer running Windows XP Professional and, initially, my own
account was Administrator type. I recently changed it to Limited
thinking that it would prevent unwanted programs and viruses from self
installing on my system. Now I need to do some system changes and I
find that can't do them on my own account, of course. I press
Ctrl+Alt+Del twice to get the Administrator account to come up but,
incredibly, it has been set up with a password! I spoke to the vendor
but they are not sure what may have happened, or how a password made it
into the setup process. There are no other user accounts set up,
limited or admin-type, so it's just me (limited) and the system
Administrator, with all its capabilities, but out of reach.

I have tried reading the messages in regards to this topic, but all
assume that the Administrator account has no password but this one has.

How can I bypassthe hurdle?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thnx!

Boot with NTpasswd and change the Administrator password to a blank.
Then log in and make whatever changes you want.
