When I boot up my computer after being in stand-by mode there is no promt for
a password, despite the fact that my account (administrator) is password
protected. It does promt after full reboot. Anybody know hwy?

Go to Control Panel and double click Power Options.
Click on the Advanced page.
Make sure there's a check mark in the box next to "Prompt for
password when computer resumes from standby".

You might also want to check Display Properites -> Screen Saver
for "On resume, password protect".
