Windows XP Security permissions

Can someone explain to me what each of the permissions for administrators do?
1. Full Control
2. Modify
3. Read & Execute
4. Read
5. Wite
6. Special Permissions

In short full control means the user has all the other permissions listed
and can take ownership of a file/folder. Read means you can read a file such
as a text or Word file. Write means you can create files/folders. Read and
execute means you can read and execute the file if it is an application file
such as ending with .exe. Modify means that you can delete and modify the
contents of a file such as a edit document. --- Steve
