Default service pack 2 installation problem

Hello, everytime I attempt to install service pack 2, I get a message saying
that it cannont read from or write to the database. Does anyone know what
that means

Some of the possible error messages are:

a.. Cryptographic service error

THanks for the website, but can you tell me how to rename the
%systemroot%\Security\*.log files? Thanks again

The article refers to the log files under C:\windws\Security folder.
Did you try MVP Torgeir Bakken batch file - fixdb.bat
