Hi All,
I like to install software (especially trial software) on my d: hard drive partition rather than on the c: partition. With a lot of software, the install routines fail with the comment that I do not have appropriate permissions to conduct the install to that location. I have admin rights to d: (full control) and can't work out why I am refused. Any Ideas ? Thanks, Neil |

Usually such messages are pretty explicit. I would double check that
administrators has full control permissions to the program files folder on that drive, that subfolders are inheriting the parent permissions, and you are not a member of any group that has deny permissions to the drive or program files folder. Administrators are also members of the users and everyone groups. --- Steve "Neil" <Neil@home.com> wrote in message news:dlg0b0$evq$1@otis.netspace.net.au... > Hi All, > > I like to install software (especially trial software) on my d: hard drive > partition rather than on the c: partition. > > With a lot of software, the install routines fail with the comment that I > do not have appropriate permissions to conduct the install to that > location. > > I have admin rights to d: (full control) and can't work out why I am > refused. > > Any Ideas ? > > Thanks, > > Neil > |
