I was given a fujitsu lifebook that does now have a cd rom or a floopy. my
friend does not remember the password for admin and the system does not have a the ability to boot from cd or floopy. i've tried but i can not load the softward to boot from the same manufacture's cd rom. the windows security won't let me load that software from the c prompt. so i need to get this password without using floopy or cd room if possiable, or this box is usless..... and its a nice box. Thanks, dan |

I find it hard to believe that it can not be configured to boot from a
floppy or cdrom. Try going to the manufacturer's website for the computer to see how you can gain access to cmos settings to configure it to boot from floppy and/or cdrom. --- Steve "Dan Pellegrini" <Dan Pellegrini@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:F5A3C72D-F8E2-49D1-8847-EFFBED6AC020@microsoft.com... >I was given a fujitsu lifebook that does now have a cd rom or a floopy. my > friend does not remember the password for admin and the system does not > have > a the ability to boot from cd or floopy. i've tried but i can not load > the > softward to boot from the same manufacture's cd rom. the windows security > won't let me load that software from the c prompt. so i need to get this > password without using floopy or cd room if possiable, or this box is > usless..... and its a nice box. > > Thanks, dan |

i spent several hours with there online chat help, and i have the same
manufacture pcmcia drive but they have a program that has to be run from the dos promt to enable it to be seen before windows loads, but i need the admin password to load the program. The system would normaly come with a recovery partition, but my frined a doctor... didn't know better and removed it. its quite a catch 22, unless there's a way to crack or reset the pasword without booting. If I could boot i'd have no probelm reformating the harddrive at all "Steven L Umbach" wrote: > I find it hard to believe that it can not be configured to boot from a > floppy or cdrom. What about the cdrom?? Did you access cmos to see what settings are
available? Try booting into safe mode and try to logon as administrator with a blank password as that often works in XP Home. As far as the floppy I can't see how running an application so that Windows can see it is relevant to booting from the floppy because that would bypass loading Windows anyhow. Try emailing the manufacturer. I am sure they would have a way to install the operating system. --- Steve "Dan Pellegrini" <DanPellegrini@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:E8D15769-BBFA-492A-9895-700C35F08FFA@microsoft.com... >i spent several hours with there online chat help, and i have the same > manufacture pcmcia drive but they have a program that has to be run from > the > dos promt to enable it to be seen before windows loads, but i need the > admin > password to load the program. well there is no floopy, i was only able to put a usb floopy and the cmos
wont boot from it. The PCMCIA CD drive is not bootable from the CMOS without running this software they h ave, which would not run becuase i could not get to the dos prompt in XP pro... by the way.... without the admin password...... thanks "Steven L Umbach" wrote: > What about the cdrom?? If you just want to reformat the drive, take it out and attach it as a slave
to another station. Boot from the receiving station and reformat. -- ~dan "Bruce Chambers" wrote: > Dan Pellegrini wrote: > > I was given a fujitsu lifebook that does now have a cd rom or a floopy. my > > friend does not remember the password for admin and the system does not have > > a the ability to boot from cd or floopy. i've tried but i can not load the > > softward to boot from the same manufacture's cd rom. the windows security > > won't let me load that software from the c prompt. so i need to get this > > password without using floopy or cd room if possiable, or this box is > > usless..... and its a nice box. > > > > Thanks, dan > > > Contact Fujitsu for warranty service and a replacement OS installation > CD.
