Default help!

hello,

When i start my computer and everything loads i go to click on aim, internet
explorer, norton antivirus, my computer and so on , i can't acess any of it.
My wireless router seems to be working. and my music sharing program seems to
be connected. So I restart in safe mode. dont do anything is safe mode.
restart and everything works perfecty fine. I really dont think i should have
to start, restart in safe mode, then start back up in normal mode to get my
computer to work properly. I ran norton anti virus and my spyware software
and nothing shows up. This has been like this for a few days now. The only
thing i can relate it to is perhaps a "stupid" program i downloaded for
smiley faces for aim. I deleted the program but perhaps it changed a
configuration or is still on my machine. I can not figure out what is wrong
with my computer. Any assistance in this matter would greatly be appreciated.

sincerely
Angela

ps my operating system is windows xp

The "stupid program" was probably malware. Since I don't know what your
"spyware software" was (and if it is AOL's program that's useless), go
through the following removal steps systematically:
