When trying to check windows firewall settings from Control Panel->Security
Center, it says: "Windows Firewall settings cannot be displayed because the associated service is not running. Do you want to start it???" This service is the WIndows Firewall/ICS service. In trying to start it, I get the message: "Windows cannot start the Windows Firewall/ICS service." What is going on? I think this is my problem for not be able to get onto the Internet via wirelesss card. Connected to network, but unable internet. |

NAV has possibly damaged the Visual Basic Runtime. You can attempt to
reregister it, but, it doesn't sound as if it will. Try that first by going to Start, Run, type in regsvr32 msvbm60.dll Click OK. If you get an error message, then download and install: Visual Basic 6.0 SP5: Run-Time Redistribution Pack (vbrun60sp5.exe) http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...D-CDF2D29A79D5 Then run netsh winsock reset to restore the Winsock.
