Default was I hijacked?

XP home, sp2, mozilla 1.7.12

Mozilla was closed and I was working on files.
I then wanted to get back online. Clicked on Mozilla icon, Mozilla
would not allow me on, saying ALREADY BEING USED.

Clicked Ctrl-Alt-Del, could not tell anything out of ordinary???

Closed all programs, nothing showing at bottom of screen to be active.

Pressed WinFlag,U,R to restart.

Windows would not shut down, saying it had to close out another program.
( not exact words)

So, any ideas what was happening?? Could this be someone tapped into
my computer??

Thanks

bently

Not nescessarily, I have seen the same thing with powerdesk, I check
taskmanager and end all instances of pdexplo(the task name) this usually
solves it. Failing all that try just turning the power off to the computer.
If you are using a laptop take the battery out, wait 2 minutes then
reinstall the battery and restart windows.
