Default Password at network log in

I have a note book (XP Home) which connects wirelessly to an old desktop
(W2KPro).

The desktop has a shared folder which is setup for "everyone" under
permissions

The note book has this folder listed in "my network places"

My problem is that when trying to access the shared folder i am promted for
a user name and password - is it possible to use the initial XP log on
details to automatically give access to this shared folder? Or should I be
mapping this?

Thanks in advance - Gary

Make identical user accounts/passwords on both machines and the request
for authentication will go away.

Hi Malke, I tried this one already and I am still prompted for
authentication, are there any other settings I should check? Thanks

Firewalls? Using real passwords - not null? Simple sharing turned off on
the XP Pro box (do from Folder Options applet)? Here are some links to
help you, including a network troubleshooter by MVP Hans-Georg Michna.
The t-shooter is particularly useful; take the time to go through it
and it will pinpoint the problem area(s).
