Hi All,
Could anyone throw any light on the following for me? I have 1 particular machine that no matter what Outlook Profile I open, none of them can send e-mail. Everything goes straight into the Outbox and sits there forever! All E-mail accounts can receive mail and I can remotely connect to the machine, but no go on the e-mail. If I open the account on another machine - its fine? The PC in question is running Win XP Pro SP2 and Outlook 2003, Domain is using Exchange 2003 on a SBS2003 server. The firewall on the PC is on courtesy of the standard policies on SBS2003, so can't be switched off from the machine. I also know that it deffinately has been woking, but for the last couple of months, nobody has been assigned to it, so it has only just reared its ugly head. Anyone know where to start looking? All/Any help appreciated TIA Mark |

It sounds like a firewall issue.
Does clicking the Send/Receive button send the emails? If so, it is most likely the firewall. You'll need to allow RPC for this to function correctly. Otherwise you'll need to click Send/Receive everytime you want email to go. -- -------- Ryan "Mark Griffiths" wrote: > Hi All, > Could anyone throw any light on the following for me? > > I have 1 particular machine that no matter what Outlook Profile I open, none > of them can send e-mail. > Everything goes straight into the Outbox and sits there forever! > > All E-mail accounts can receive mail and I can remotely connect to the > machine, but no go on the e-mail. > > If I open the account on another machine - its fine? > > The PC in question is running Win XP Pro SP2 and Outlook 2003, Domain is > using Exchange 2003 on a SBS2003 server. > The firewall on the PC is on courtesy of the standard policies on SBS2003, > so can't be switched off from the machine. > > I also know that it deffinately has been woking, but for the last couple of > months, nobody has been assigned to it, so it has only just reared its ugly > head. > > Anyone know where to start looking? > > All/Any help appreciated > TIA > Mark > > > > |

Hi Ryan,
Thanks for that, but clicking send/Receive does nothing for the items in the Outbox - they still will not depart! Hi Kathleen,
Nothing in there that appears to relate to this issue, although there are a number of Event ID: 1 saying something about "Chassis Intrusion Detection"? Thanks Mark "K. Are you using MAPI or POP/SMTP?
if POP/SMTP, any AV program? Is AV set to stop mail worms? These frequently block port 25. Hi All,
Thanks for looking into this for me, but guess what - a simple "detect and repair" seems to have resolved the issue?? Does anyone know if "Detect and Repair" leaves a log of what it did, would be useful to know what was causing the problem! Thanks again everyone!
