I have two laptops on a wireless home network. One computer has XP Home, and
the second XP Pro. When signing on to the computer with XP Pro, from the one with XP Home, I have to log on with a user name and a password, however, when logging on the computer with XP Home from the one with XP Pro, wallah! no user name or password required. BOTH have user accounts and passwords are required at boot up. I would like to password protect the computer with XP Home. How can this be accomplished? Thanks, Phil Allen |

Run 'control userpasswords2' - this will allow you to set the default user and whether a password is required. Note that this applet also gives control over group membership, etc. but you should NOT change these settings as XP Home is not designed to support these features. |
