I am having problem migrating from Win2K Pro to WinXP Pro. Something I found
after testing an app. that I am working on, compiles fine and ran fine under Win2K Pro, is that after the migration my app. compiles with no errors but, when running the app., no problems until I try to edit or insert, then receive an Access Violation ReadOnly error. I checked the folder containing my database files (DBISAM database) with XPWin Explorer and the folder is marked ReadOnly which makes sense why the AV error when edit/insert and attempt to Post or Refresh. My problem is, even though my user account is Administrator, WinXP won't let me change the folder to UnReadOnly. It appears to let me change the folder to UnReadOnly when I check the folder's properties, uncheck the ReadOnly box and click Apply, then XP asks if I want to apply unreadonly to the folder, subfolders and files, I click Yes. But I can recheck the folder and XP always resets the folder back to ReadOnly behind the scenes. Anyone know why this would be happening? Thks & advise, Don |
