trying to install the new zone alarm and it continues to give me and error
about the true vector service. not exactly sure what that is. how do i go
about getting this installed and up and running. and what is true vector and
is there a way to fix it?

"true vector" IS zone alarm, or at least part of it.

What it may be trying to say is that you can not install a new zone alarm
while the old one is running.

Try turning off zone alarm. then installing the new one.

If this is the first installation of zone alarm on the PC, then the error is
more puzzling.

I assume that you do NOT have any other firewall active? More is not
necessarily better when it comes to firewall or antivirus.
