Default Administrator

I removed an old named account and left the original administrator on my
system. I changed the password and then closed the computer down.
When I rebooted the welcome message tells you to select a user but there are
none shown. I press CRT ALT Del twice and it recognises the administrator and
password but says that I am unable to log on because of an account
restriction. Is there any way of geting back into my machine?

Thanks
Richard

Try booting into Safe Mode as the administrator account may be disabled in
regular logon. --- Steve

Thanks.

I booted in safe mode F8, and using my old adminstrator password managed to
create a new account. I then just had to redo my personal account properties,
desktop etc.

Thanks for the help

It sounds as if you're using XP Home. The Administrator account can only be accessed in Safe Mode for XP Home.
