In my small home network with 8 computers all running win xp. My problem is
all the folders on C: and D: drives are write protected, so any time i tried
to save a data on any folder it just won´t let me. I tried almost everything
but nothing works.

And i even creat a folder in both c and d drives but they all pop up write
protected,

You need to review the folder/NTFS permissions to give the user/group you
want write permissions for the appropriate folders. See the link below on
how to manage folder/NTFS permissions which vary a bit depending on if you
are using XP Pro or XP Home. Keep in mind that deny permissions usually
override allow permissions and the administrators are also members of the
users/authenticated users/everyone groups. --- Steve

thank you so much steven.
but the problems still exist, i unchecked the write protected box under
FOLDER PROPERTIES and i hit the apply buton then ok, but if i open the
properties of the same folder, GUESS WHAT HAPPEN the write protected box is
checked:

I just don´t know why, cause i did this as administrator and i hve all full
permission.

The Read Only attribute does not apply to folders in XP. If you are
getting Access Denied errors - and quoting the exact text of any error
messages you receive would be helpful - then you either have a
misconfigured firewall or your sharing/permissions are set up wrong.

If you have XP Pro, make sure your Simple Sharing option is identical on
all machines. My preference with Pro on a small network is to disable
Simple Sharing and make identical user accounts/passwords on all
machines. Since we don't know how many users are involved in your
network, only you can decide if that is practical.

Since you haven't told us what version of XP you have on your machines
or the Service Pack level, you can't get specific answers. The issue is
not one of security or "write protection" but rather of misconfigured

You should be looking in the security box in folder properties to make sure
your user account and administrators have "full control" . I am a bit
confused when you say "unchecked the write protected box" as the write
permission in the security page gives you the ability to write to the folder
unless that is unique to XP Home and I may never have come across that yet.
If this is for a share then you also want to make sure that administrators
and your account have full control permissions to the share. It would also
help to know what operating system you are using as XP Home only allows the
guest account to access a share on an XP Home computer which means that the
guest account would need to be enabled on your computers and everyone group
would need to have permissions to the share and folder. Share permissions
only apply to network users while folder/NTFS permissions apply to any user
trying to access the folder either local logon or via the network. ---
