i was sent a music file through msn messenger and was told when i recieved it
that it had been blocked by windows security for being a "harmful file". I
went to my received files, where the music file would have gone to, yet it
wasnt there. i tried searching for the file but it couldn't find it. has
windows not only blocked the file but removed it? hope someone can help,

If it was blocked, you didn't get it so you won't find it !

That's the whole idea.

If it was truly a "music file" then it wouldn't be considered harmful. Chances are that is
was a faux music file but actually malware !
