OK, my 12 year old has changed and forgotten my admin password. Is there
anything I can do to log into this account? I am using XP Pro. |

Simply log in using the built-in Administrator account (which cannot be deleted) and modify the desired account(s). By design, the only way to log into the Administrator account of WinXP Home is to reboot into Safe Mode. For WinXP Pro, pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL twice at the Welcome Screen will produce the standard login dialog box. And then be sure to take away the administrative privileges that you've granted your son's account. -- Bruce Chambers Help us help you: http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html You can have peace. I have win xp media center. By mistake (I was trying to password protect 1
file) I password protected everything. I don't want to log on at administrator screen. I want the desktop to come up when I reboot then click on icon to log on. Help. I have tried the control userpasswords2 and that does not do. -- Charly "Steven L Umbach" wrote: > If Bruce's suggestions do not help take a look at the last resort option in > the link below. --- Steve > > http://www.petri.co.il/forgot_admini...r_password.htm > > "del" <del@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:C56501A1-CF69-4C66-962E-3DA25BF7D504@microsoft.com... > > OK, my 12 year old has changed and forgotten my admin password.
